The Lord Mayor of Dublin Daithí de Róiste has announced the charities chosen for the Lord Mayor’s Charity Ball 2024.

They are ‘Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association’, ‘Breast Cancer Ireland’ and ‘A Lust for Life’.

Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association and Breast Cancer Ireland were chosen by the Lord Mayor;

“I am honoured to make today’s announcement because both of these charities are very close to my heart,” said the Lord Mayor. “So many families across Ireland have been impacted by Breast Cancer and Irish Motor Neurone Disease, including my own. The work of both Breast Cancer Ireland and the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association in supporting the patients and their families is invaluable and I am delighted to play a part in highlighting their work and raising much-needed funds for such a worthy cause.”

The 3rd charity, ‘A Lust for Life’ was chosen by The Round Room at the Mansion House.

“We, The Round Room at the Mansion House, FIRE Steakhouse & Bar and SOLE Seafood & Grill as an employer of young people have seen and heard the increasing concerns around mental health in the youth of today. We believe this area not only needs financial support but most importantly also needs to be openly talked about via public awareness which is what the Lord Mayor’s Charity Ball generates” said Padraic O’Kane, CEO of The Round Room at the Mansion House, FIRE Steakhouse & Bar and SOLE Seafood & Grill.

The evening is fully sponsored by The Round Room, FIRE Steakhouse & Bar and SOLE Seafood & Grill. The night promises to be an evening of delicious food, live auction, music and raising some much needed funds for the three deserving charities in the beautiful and historic Round Room at the Mansion House.

Each charity was represented by an Ambassador at a photocall announcement in the Mansion House on Monday 11th December. Charlie Bird was there for ‘Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association’, Georgie Crawford represented ‘Breast Cancer Ireland’ and Bressie was there for ‘A Lust for Life’.

The Lord Mayor’s Charity Ball is a ticketed event which takes place each year and the money raised from the tickets, auction and raffle on the night goes to two charities chosen by the Lord Mayor and one chosen by The Round Room at the Mansion House. The Lord Mayor’s Charity Ball will take place on Saturday, 27th April 2024.
